Brief Summation Of The Stages Of Electrical Installation During Home Construction
Once you have hired construction contractors for your new home build, you could be more focused on how your house is coming together on the materials side of things rather than the electrical part of the process. However, it is also good to have an idea of how the installation of your electrical system will be undergone by your electrical contractors. The following is a brief summation of the stages of electrical installation during home construction.
The rough-in stage of electrical installation
Although there will be electricity used on the construction site before it is installed in the building itself, this electricity is typically temporary and will not be part of the system that your electrical contractor will install in your home. Thus, the first step of the electrical installation is the placement of the house's circuit wiring. In essence, this is the cabling that will run from your circuit box to the rest of the home.
The electrical contractor will drill all the holes needed for the wiring to be installed around the house. In addition to this, all the lighting that is the layout of the new home will be installed at this stage too. Lastly, wiring that will be utilised for security, entertainment and other systems will be installed at this stage. Overall, the rough-in stage is where your electrical contractor will install all the wiring before the walls are closed up.
The finishing stage of electrical installation
This stage of electrical installation has your electrical contractor installing all the appliances that will use the electrical system. Hence, this is the stage where your HVAC system, your light fixtures and all other external elements that will be running on electricity will be installed. Since this stage concludes the electrical installation, it may take a few days or weeks, depending on the size of the premises, for your electrical contractor to ensure that everything is up and running. This stage also happens to be the last part of the construction of your home.
The modification stage
Once you have moved in, it does not mean that you cannot make any changes to your electrical system. Electrical contractors provide this modification stage for making sure that everything is tested and that the wiring is in working condition. Thus, if you find that your HVAC system is not working at optimum or perhaps some lighting fixtures are not turning on, this is the stage that the electrical contractor will modify their installation. Furthermore, you may also choose to alter your wiring at this stage too without having to pay extra for the modifications.
